Designing projects / Occupancy and furniture planning

Planning and procurement of furniture, fixtures and fittings

Furniture planning is an essential first step to ensure that subsequent orders are correct in terms of quantities and details.

We ensure that your furnishings and fixtures meet your quality and budget specifications and organise the procurement process on your behalf.

In our furniture planning we map your organisational units right down to the level of individual members of staff. Working together, we personalise the occupancy plan, which is still non-differentiated at this stage, to match the needs and requirements of the respective employees. As part of this step, the furniture of the offices and special-use areas is also personalised within the scope allowed by the furniture design tool. Together we specify the details of costs, quality, function and required dimensions of the furniture and tailor the design to the layout of your office space. Finally, we draw up a summary of these agreed parameters, such as the chosen models for standard items of furniture, order quantities, design specifications for special items of furniture, requirements in terms of IT equipment and allocation of workspaces, which allows us to make a start with ordering, production of special items of furniture or relocation planning.

Deliverables we provide:

  • Production of a furniture master plan
  • Production of a detailed furniture plan

The furniture master plan shows the position of walls and doorways and the layout of the rooms and spaces, allowing installation plans to be drawn up. The master plan also shows the (as yet non-personalised) furnishings for the defined modules – this allows an initial projection of required furniture that can be used for preparation of the relevant tender process.

The detailed furniture plan specifies the furnishings with due regard for the requirements dictated by the building technical systems. The furniture (depending on the concept) is subsequently personalised, taking account of individual staff at least down to homebase level. The furniture strategy can also be defined for a specific project, whereby the dimensions of the required new furniture are determined and/or the move is planned accordingly.
